ETG Canada acquires an Edible Beans Processing Facility in Manitoba
Toronto, 21st May, 2021 – ETG Commodities Inc. , a registered entity of ETG in Canada, has acquired a bean processing facility and related production assets from Globeway’s Canada in Plum Coulee, Manitoba.
"The Plum Coulee facility will support ETG North America’s growth and leadership in the rapidly expanding market for dry edible beans," says Rav Kapoor, Chief Executive Officer of ETG Commodities Inc. "It will bring a lot of synergy to our existing global supply chain network and as a result, we’ll be able to offer a diversified portfolio of products to our existing customers. We will be further investing and upgrading the facility to maintain the high standard of quality and service our customers expect. It marks an important milestone in our pursuit to connect local Canadian farming communities to global markets."
The newly acquired Plum Coulee facility will support the Group’s farm-level partners across the region; strengthen the Group’s global pulses and specialty crop position; and enable efficient product processing and distribution globally to cater for the growing demand of pulses.
Strategically located in the heart of Southern Manitoba bean growing area, in close proximity to railroads and highways, the Plum Coulee facility is capable of sourcing and processing coloured edible beans including: Pinto Beans, Black Beans, Navy Beans, Great Northern Beans, White Kidney Beans, Light Red Kidney Beans, Dark Red Kidney Beans and Cranberry Beans.
ETG North America has continued expanding its footprint since its inception in 2012. The added capacity in edible beans combined with new key customer and grower relationships will allow the business to accommodate additional growth in the coming years.
