This high value cash crop is grown and harvested primarily in Africa and parts of Asia and South America. With ever increasing production, Africa is the leading supplier to the global market. ETG’s extensive African footprint has afforded the group to be one of the major players in the cashew business with fully integrated sourcing, processing, and distribution networks. Our sourcing footprint spans all cashew producing origins in Africa, namely Tanzania and Mozambique in East Africa; and Benin, Burkina Faso, Togo, Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal, Cote d’Ivoire, and Guinea Bissau in West Africa. ETG is an integrated player with presence across the entire spectrum i.e. Raw Cashew Nut Trading, Cashew Processing and Cashew Kernel trading.
ETG has a strong footprint in the major cocoa producing origins. We have a significant integrated bean sourcing presence in the major West African producing nations and expanding into the South American market. Our significant investment in the supply chain, coupled with our strong commitment to supply sustainable cocoa, makes us the counterparty of choice for the industry.
As a signatory of the Cocoa and Forests Initiative (CFI), we are committed to protecting and restoring forests, engaging communities, and supporting sustainable production and farmer livelihoods. Our foundation Beyond Beans has done path-breaking and seminal work in the field of cocoa sustainability and increasing farmer income.
Premium quality, coupled with a reliable distribution network made ETG’s Rice Brands a preferred household name in East and West Africa. We source our rice from the finest mills in leading origin countries, including India, Vietnam, Pakistan & Thailand and distribute it under our leading brands Falcon, ‘Namaste’ and Rhino. We have introduced the first branded rice fortified with iron, zinc and vitamins in Kenya. ETG’s year-long supply to even the remotest locations has enabled the group to penetrate some of the most challenging markets.
Sesame and Peanuts:
ETG is the most trusted name and preferred partner in the sesame value chain. All African origination takes place at the farm gate level. ETG’s sesame seed volume is sourced from Ethiopia, Tanzania, Mozambique, Nigeria, Niger, Mali, Burkina Faso, India, Senegal, China, Pakistan, and Somalia. As an integrated value chain participant, we invested in state-of-the-art de-hulling plants in Mozambique and a sesame processing facility in China. We offer high-quality hulled, edible grade, and natural sesame seeds with other value-added products. Building on its farmer network strength in Africa, the business secured a trade of Peanuts from Senegal, Horn of Africa, Mozambique and West Africa to China and Southeast Asia for both oil and edible markets. Peanuts, being an exchange-traded commodity in China, allows risk mitigation and price discovery.
To address an increasing global demand and consumption of Edible Nuts, we have invested, and established infrastructure supported by a strong distribution channel to offer quality kernels from different origin. Given ETG’s strong roots in Africa, ETG processes Cashew Kernels and markets it under our flagship bulk brand “Korosho”. Korosho Cashews offer complete traceability along the supply chain – allowing us to optimize quality control and ensuring that our farmers receive the best benefit for their produce. Building on our success in processing Cashews and following our customers’ overgrowing needs for good quality and reliable Edible Nuts, ETG has recently forayed into Almonds and Walnuts processing, while also helping to source raw Macadamias and Pecans from Africa. ETG has its own BRC certified facilities across Mozambique, Benin and Vietnam allowing it to serve its customer with premium quality Cashew Kernels under the brand Korosho. In India, ETG has a state-of-the-art processing plant in Kheda for Almond and Walnuts pistachio having a capacity to process over 10,000 MT.
